Reasons To Start Botox In Your 20s

botox younger age blog

The days of considering botox to be a procedure meant for older patients are gone. More and more people in their 20s are opting for the gold standard anti-aging treatment, and for good reason. The treatment generally isn’t something you think about until you start to notice your frown lines aren’t going away even after you’ve stopped frowning. Here’s why you should reconsider that idea if you don’t think you need Botox yet.

It preserves skin health
How does something injected into muscles help your skin? Well, aside from the most obvious benefit of reducing your expression lines, botox can also reduce the chances of an acne flare up because it’ll reduce sweating in the treated area.

Microbotox has also been shown to reduce the size of your pores and improve the appearance of rosacea, contributing to an improvement in skin health and texture.

It prevents expression lines from the start
Remember when your mother told you to stop scowling or your face might get stuck that way? Well… she wasn’t entirely wrong. We all know what botox is good for, but unfortunately some patients don’t start getting it regularly until permanent lines have already formed. Years of frowning, laughing, and dramatic facial expressions can leave behind lines that are too deeply etched to get rid of with botox alone. So generally speaking, the earlier you start on Botox, the less likely you’ll be stuck with that facial expression for life. And the less likely you’ll be to need filler injections.

If you don’t use it, you lose it
Muscles are designed by nature to grow in size and strength the more you use them. Since injecting botox into them means you can’t use them anymore, they cease to serve a purpose and begin to atrophy. This is great news for your common expression areas like the glabella and crow’s feet because botox will eventually cause those muscles to dissipate. It’s true that if you stop botox, they will eventually come back because we can’t get rid of all the muscle tissue there, but they will be noticeably weaker and you’ll need a lot less botox over time.

Starting botox in your 20s is a wise investment if getting less cosmetic treatments later in life is your goal, and you can always choose between “baby botox” for a more subtle approach or start with full botox treatments in common problem areas. Your injector will be able to point you in the right direction depending on what you hope to achieve.
