Emsculpt vs. Emsculpt Neo: which one is better?

Emsculpt vs. Emsculpt Neo which one is better blog

When we introduced Emsculpt to our market several years ago, it was a hit. Getting an ab and butt workout without exerting ourselves? Yes, please! Our patients have loved the procedure, with many signing up for repeat treatments and maintenance plans to keep their muscle strength and continue losing more fat.

Then a while later, Emsculpt Neo was introduced and so many people had questions. What was different about Neo? And most frequently, which one is better?

The reality is that both devices are effective, and both technically achieve the same thing. Both have different sets of benefits when compared with one another, and some patients still prefer to use Emsculpt while others have enthusiastically embraced Neo. Since it would not be fitting to say one is better than the other, we’ll point out which one of them might be better for you.

Building Muscle Mass
Both of them achieve this, but at different levels. After a series of four treatments, classic Emsculpt achieves 16% muscle mass increase while Neo provides 25%. So if you’re looking to gain more muscle mass, Neo is the better option for you. But if you’re looking for core strength in general or a little boost to your squat workout, the classic Emsculpt will effectively provide it for a lower budget.

Fat Reduction
Emsculpt eliminates up to 19% of fat in a treated area after a series of four treatments, while Emsculpt Neo eliminates up to 30%. The reason for the difference is the addition of radiofrequency (RF) with Neo. RF will melt fat in the treated area more, whereas Emsculpt works off muscle contractions to accelerate the fat loss. So if you want to lose more fat with Emsculpt, it would require an additional treatment or two in order to achieve the results you’d get with Neo.

Frequency
Just when you might be thinking Neo is the “better” treatment, this is one of the areas where classic Emsculpt has a big advantage. The benefit of Emsculpt is that it can be performed a lot more frequently than Emsculpt Neo, primarily because of Neo’s addition of RF. The RF feature requires 5-7 days between treatments. So a series of classic Emsculpt can be completed in two weeks and repeated much more often, while you’ll need a minimum of four weeks for Neo. So if you want to see progression more quickly, classic Emsculpt is your best option.

Cost
Because Neo contains two treatments in one, it does come at a slightly higher cost. A series of classic Emsculpt is priced lower than Neo, making it ideal for someone who has less fat to eliminate and a tighter budget. But keep in mind that you might need more than four treatments to get the full results you want with classic Emsculpt so it’s best to talk with your provider to find a balance between your budget and your expected results so you can be guided towards the Emsculpt treatment that’s right for you.
