Most Commonly Asked Questions About Genius RF

Genius RF Microneedling in West Palm Beach | Supriya Dermatology

It’s our newest device, but many people have either never heard of Genius RF, or if they have heard of it they don’t fully understand what the treatment involves. We’re here to explain this volumizing and lifting treatment and speak on why this device stands out among its peers enough to get the Supriya Dermatology stamp of approval.

First of all, what is Genius RF?

Genius RF is a device that has a hand piece that’s designed to remodel collagen, tighten skin, and naturally plump and lift skin. The device has a stamp at its tip, and when it’s applied to the skin it delivers radiofrequency (RF) energy deep into the dermis to stimulate collagen growth, smoothing out wrinkles, acne scars, uneven texture, and skin laxity.

What is RF?

RF is simply heat energy that’s used to tighten and lift your skin. The end result is a noticeable reduction in wrinkles, laxity, and scars. The heat has the added effect of stimulating collagen and elastin in the deep layers of your skin, so this essentially strengthens the treatment.

How does Genius RF stand out among similar devices?

Genius RF Microneedling uses RF energy to stimulate higher levels of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. However, it has a very unique advantage over the rest. Every time a treatment like this is performed, your practitioner programs the device to deliver a specified amount of energy based on your skin’s condition. But as the treatment progresses and the skin is passed over multiple times, the impedance of your skin can change because of the controlled micro injuries being caused. Genius uses smart technology in its state-of-the-art handpiece which analyzes the skin as it passes, allowing for changes in needle penetration depth and delivery of RF energy to account for differences in skin thickness and impedance. The device can adjust as your practitioner works over your skin, providing realtime feedback on how your skin is responding so that you get the same amount of energy delivered as intended.

What happens during a Genius RF treatment?

Prior to your treatment, your skin will be cleansed and a topical numbing agent will be used to make sure you’re comfortable during your treatment. As the treatment begins, your provider will stamp your skin in a repeat pattern across the areas you’re having treated. It usually takes at least 2—3 passes, but each treatment can vary depending on what you’re treating and the condition of your skin.

What does Genius RF treat?

Genius RF is great for treating fine lines, wrinkles, skin laxity and sagging, age spots, scars, enlarged pores, stretch marks, and other skin texture issues. It’s great for smoother, brighter, lifted skin.

How long is the recovery from Genius RF?

This is one of our favorite parts of this treatment, because it’s very minimal. You’ll notice some swelling and redness for the rest of the day of your treatment, but within three days most of this will subside. Part of the reason for this is because of how deep Genius RF treats in the skin, so the surface level of your skin remains relatively unaffected by the treatment.

How many Genius RF treatments do I need?

It all depends. Some patients see great results after 1 treatment, and some need a series. We usually recommend a series of 3 treatments, but that’s a question best answered during your consultation with us so we can see how much your skin needs.

Who can get Genius RF?

Genius RF can be used on all skin types and skin tones. Most healthy individuals can get Genius RF, however, we need to consult with every patient in advance to make sure you don’t have any conditions that would interfere with treatment.
