There are many different lip volume fillers on the market – Juvéderm®, Juvederm Voluma™ XC, Restylane®, and Belotero® to name a few. So we can’t blame you if you can’t tell the difference between them or even know where to start. We’re here to help.
The best way to get fuller, poutier, younger looking lips is with a lip volume filler/injection. A temporary (but long lasting) treatment, lip fillers support and shape the lip tissue. And this treatment isn’t just for women looking to downplay aging or years or volume loss. Many young women are turning to injections to plump up their lips. Kylie Jenner is a famous example.
The young star said she got the fillers because “It’s just an insecurity of mine, and it’s what I wanted to do.” Which is what we, at Supriya Aesthetic Dermatology like to hear as a reason someone wants to get fillers. Getting Botox® or fillers is a personal decision and should be made because you wish to improve something about your looks, not to give in to societal pressure or family or friends.
So, what type of lip volume filler is best?
This is a question for your doctor, but typically we recommend Restylane®, Juvederm®, or Belotero®. These fillers are lighter, better target the sensitive skin on the lips and contain hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the body, which increases the volume in your lips. The use of hyaluronic acid fillers is recommended because the doctor can have control over the amount of volume created, administer a gradual pace of treatment, and deliver a natural looking appearance. Hyaluronic acid fillers offer less bruising and long-lasting (though temporary) results.
