5 No-Nonsense Facts About Emsculpt Neo

5 no nonsense facts neo blog

In a world filled with everyone selling the latest and greatest "too good to be true" trends in weight loss and fitness, sometimes it's hard to distinguish what works from what doesn't. And when a truly innovative and effective procedure comes along, often we are skeptical about the results it claims to deliver. At Supriya Dermatology, it's our responsibility to guide our patients to make the right cosmetic choices, so we are providing you with all of the no-nonsense facts about Emsculpt Neo and what your realistic expectations should be before getting the treatment.

IT USES TWO THERAPIES IN ONE
Emsculpt Neo (originally just called Emsculpt) primarily focused on building muscle—and the fat loss associated with it was just an added extraordinary benefit of the process. Neo simply took this process and improved on it by adding radiofrequency (RF). Adding RF to the HIFEM (the electromagnetic pulses that help build the muscle tissue) has given Neo a significant bump in fat-burning power. RF energy can literally burn away fat (don't worry, it's not going to burn you), resulting in a 30% reduction in fat around the treated area and a 25% increase in muscle mass. Both numbers have grown significantly since the rollout of Emsculpt's newly upgraded Neo thanks to this combination.

IT CAN FEEL VERY "WEIRD"
You'd think that a device that caused 24,000 contractions in half an hour would be incredibly uncomfortable, but in truth it's not. You won't experience the pain and fatigue you'd feel at the gym, and you won't be out of breathe like you would be if you did tons of squats, lifts, or sit-ups. And since the contractions are supramaximal, you don't have to strain yourself to create them. You basically just lie there and allow Emsculpt Neo to work it's magic. However, it doesn't mean the treatment is so simple that you can curl up and take a nap. Patients and staff members have all reported that the sensation caused by Emsculpt Neo is "unusual" but no one has ever reported pain. With the addition of RF, the treatment will be warmer than it's predecessor, and you will feel that warmth on your skin during the treatment. But despite the uptick in temperature, it will not progress to an actual burn. Sounds a lot better than doing 24,000 reps of anything at the gym, doesn't it?

IT CONTRACTS MUSCLES 24,000 TIMES IN ONE SESSION
If you're curious about exactly how this device can build your muscle, it's the HIFEM technology that does it. The pulses generated by Emsculpt Neo cause what's called a supramaximal contraction, which is essentially just an involuntary muscle contraction. Now, imagine this happening 24,000 times in 30 minutes. It's only natural that your muscles are going to grow because Emsculpt Neo is forcing the process.

NOT EVERYONE IS A CANDIDATE
We hate to say it because we want everyone to be able to experience the benefits, but unfortunately some people can't qualify for Emsculpt Neo. If you have metal anywhere in your body, a pacemaker, or an IUD, you'll probably be referred to another method of fat reduction so that Neo won't interfere with their functionality. And generally, you need to be under a BMI of 35 in order to truly see the difference after your treatments, and we can provide a full list of what to look out for to anyone seriously considering the procedure.

IT FOCUSES ON MUSCLE MASS IN THE BUTTOCKS
Emsculpt Neo boasts impressive muscle building, and this benefit is great at giving you a much more shapely backside when used on the buttocks. The protocol for an Emsculpt butt lift is slightly different for other areas and it focuses more on muscle enhancement in this area, and the result is a perkier booty with better shape and less sag.
