Rosacea and Redness, (Acne scarring, Redness of skin, capillaries, stretch mark reduction)

Rosacea is a common skin condition that causes redness, flushing, and visible blood vessels, most often on the cheeks, nose, and chin. Some patients may also experience small red bumps or sensitive skin that feels irritated. While rosacea is not harmful, it can be frustrating and impact self-confidence. The good news is that there are safe and effective treatments available to help manage symptoms and restore a clearer complexion.

Rosacea Triggers & Symptoms

Rosacea often flares up due to common triggers such as sun exposure, heat, stress, spicy foods, alcohol, and certain skincare products. Symptoms may include:

  • Persistent redness
  • Flushing or blushing easily
  • Visible broken blood vessels (telangiectasia)
  • Skin sensitivity or burning sensation
  • In some cases, acne-like bumps

Identifying your personal triggers and combining this knowledge with professional treatments can help minimize flare-ups.

Although there is no permanent cure for rosacea, modern dermatology offers solutions that significantly reduce redness, minimize flare-ups, and improve overall skin tone. At Supriya Aesthetic Dermatology, we customize treatment plans based on the severity of your symptoms and your skin goals.

Vbeam LASER for ROSACEA + SKIN REDNESS

The VBeam® pulsed dye laser is one of the most effective treatments for rosacea. It targets visible blood vessels and redness, reducing inflammation and restoring a more even skin tone with little downtime. The Vbeam® laser uses targeted pulses of light to treat redness, rosacea, broken capillaries, and other vascular or pigmented skin concerns. It safely reduces discoloration, evens out skin tone, and promotes a clearer, healthier complexion with minimal downtime.

BBL/IPL LASER

BroadBand Light (BBL) and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments gently heat the skin to reduce redness, broken capillaries, and uneven pigmentation. These treatments also stimulate collagen production for smoother, healthier-looking skin.

MICRONEEDLING, MICRONUTRIENTS + PEPTIDES

Our custom skin cocktails, in particular our Antioxidant Cocktail and Purifying Skin Cocktail can be used to treat rosacea with microneedling. These two cocktails support healing and recovery for rosacea-prone skin. The Antioxidant Cocktail strengthens the skin’s barrier, reduces irritation from environmental triggers, and promotes healthier cell renewal. The Purifying Skin Cocktail helps calm redness, control inflammation, and refine pores, creating a more balanced, soothed, and resilient complexion for those with rosacea.

Can rosacea be cured?

Rosacea is a chronic condition which we can help to minimize but not permanently cure. Professional treatments, such as the Vbeam laser is considered the gold standard for skin redness and rosacea and consistently utilized by those suffering from redness in helping to minimize their symptoms. Laser treatments, combined with topicals and micronutrients, as well as well-maintained skin care can dramatically reduce redness, visible vessels, and flare-ups for long-term control.

How many treatments will I need?

For our laser treatments, we recommend 3-4 sessions through a series of treatments which is the standard for best initial results. Maintenance sessions are needed depending on the severity of rosacea on your skin. After the initial treatment series, most patients will usually come in every 6-12 months to have a treatment to maintain results. In severe cases, patients will need come in with more frequency depending on what the provider recommends.

Genius RF for Acne Scar Removal

Genius RF takes collagen stimulation through microneedling to a new level, offering an advanced treatment that combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to intelligently stimulate collagen deep into the layers of the skin. The process involves using tiny needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, which stimulates the body’s natural healing process and collagen remodeling in the deeper layers of the skin. At the same time, the radiofrequency energy heats the deeper layers of the skin, enhancing skin tightening and texture improvement. This dual-action works to smooth out uneven skin and minimizes the chance of scarring.

Genius RF typically takes about 30-60 minutes, depending on the treatment area, and most patients experience very mild swelling that generally lasts for a day or two. You’ll begin to notice an improvement within a few weeks, but your full results take up to 3 months as your collagen levels increase. We often recommend a series of three treatments, but a consultation is our best way of determining your ideal number of treatments, and if a combination is the right choice for you.

UltraClear for Acne Scar Removal

One of the most potent and results-driven procedures in our armamentarium for acne scar removal is UltraClear, the newest addition to our laser treatments. UltraClear Laser is a cutting-edge technology designed to target and treat various types of skin imperfections, including acne scars. • Precision and Customization: One of the key benefits of UltraClear Laser is its ability to precisely target acne scars, whether they are shallow or deep. The treatment can be adjusted to suit your unique skin type and scar severity, ensuring optimal results.
  • Safe for All Skin Types: UltraClear Laser is suitable for all skin types and offers a safe, non-surgical alternative to chemical peels or dermal injections. It’s a highly effective option for those who have struggled with acne scars that aren’t suited to lasers like Fraxel.
  • Long-Lasting Results: While it may take multiple sessions to achieve the best results, UltraClear Laser offers long-lasting improvements to skin texture and tone. Over time, the collagen stimulated by the laser continues to refine and smooth the skin’s appearance, making acne scars less noticeable.

Differences Between Lasers for REDNESS AND ROSACEA AND FOR Acne Scar Removal

Fraxel, Clear + Brilliant, and UltraClear all work wonders on pigmentation, but are most noted for their collagen-inducing abilities. Vbeam, on the other hand, is considered the gold standard for redness, which is perfect for anyone bothered by persistent redness left behind by their acne scars. While most patients we see benefit from all of our lasers, a consultation may be necessary to make sure we approach your scars with the most effective laser treatment based on your skin type and how much treatment you’ll actually require.

CryoFacials

CryoFacials involve the use of cold therapy to stimulate the skin and promote circulation, helping to reduce inflammation and redness associated with acne scars, however, CryoFacials and esthetician services go a long way in treating active breakouts that can be red and painful. They provide a safe way to soothe inflammation and can help reduce the severity of the breakout, thus helping prevent the formation of scars. One of our priorities lies in the prevention of acne scars. Getting ahead of persistent acne is simpler than ever, with everything from topicals to prescriptions to get control of your skin. Getting to the root cause is where our providers step in and guide you so acne scars are less likely to be an issue down the road.
